Group therapy, a widely accepted treatment option for over 50 years, is extremely beneficial in treating trauma, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and much more. Group therapy has even been shown to increase the life span of cancer patients. (Evidence Is in: Psychotherapy Changes the Brain)
Groups provide a nurturing, accepting environment in which painful feelings and experiences can be shared. Groups encourage the reestablishment of trust, validate your experiences and provide access to information from others. They help rebuild self-esteem. Through group therapy you discover you’re not alone with the problems you face. You also learn more about how other people view you and how you affect others, which improves the quality of your relationships over time.
